Accessibility at Island Beehive

We want everyone to feel welcome and able to enjoy their visit to Island Beehive - home of The Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co. Our team is happy to discuss individual access requirements and adapt our tours and experiences wherever practical.

Wheelchair and mobility access

Island Beehive has ramp access, wide doorways and an accessible bathroom with handrails and sufficient space for a wheelchair.

Our Behind the Scenes Tour takes place entirely on one level and can accommodate guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility.

Accessible Beekeeping Experiences

Our Beekeeping Experience can be modified for guests who use a wheelchair or have mobility restrictions. Instead of entering the apiary, guests can participate from the balcony immediately adjacent to the hives, allowing them to see the bees and beekeeper closely while remaining on an accessible, level surface.

Small groups and private tours

Our tours are conducted in small groups so our guides can provide individual attention and adapt the experience where possible.

If a guest has additional access or support needs that would make a standard group tour difficult, we can provide a private tour. This allows the tour to include only the guest, their family or support people, and the guide.

Please let us know about any requirements when booking so we can make the appropriate arrangements.

Companion Cards

We accept Companion Cards. Please present the card on arrival or let our team know when making your booking.
